I had the opportunity to photograph this incredible group of sophomores before their Winter Formal on Friday night. It was extra special for me, because half of them were in my class just a few years ago as sixth graders! This shoot was exciting for them because they knew they would get so much more than a "hold your arms around her waist, tilt your head, and smile" type of dance picture. We had a blast...
Tonight will be the annual Cub Scout cake auction. In the spirit of things...Davin and I have spent the past several days in the kitchen attempting to work our magic on this animal head cake pan. Davin is determined to turn this bear into a wolf in time for tonight's auction....
His favorite part of the process... This afternoon we will decorate using cake tips, gray frosting, chocolate covered graham crackers, Oreos, to make our wolf come to life. More pictures to come post-auction... fingers are crossed.
Took the mantle down this weekend to give it a facelift. Sanded and primed it. Finishing the final coats of white today. Gotta get it back on the wall...lots of Valentine decor just waiting to be displayed.
Speaking of Do It Myself...I will be reconstructing this blog over the next few days. Maybe I should call it Do It Heather...she is my blogging buddy that went from no blog to out of this world creative blog in no time flat. She is an HTML genius. She will be holding my hand along the way...wink. Click on her name and check out her blog if you haven't yet.
Luckily the weather took a turn for the beautiful this weekend. We were able to get some house projects going...(more to come later). After church ( week 3 woot woot!), we were also able to get together with friends... It is amazing what a little sunshine can do for the soul...these pictures make me very happy.
Just to prove that Southern California does, in fact, experience some form of a season other than summer...here is our backyard yesterday during one of the many torrential down pours we have been experiencing all. week. long. Not that I am complaining...
I actually kind of like it. I especially like the the cancelling of all sports practices allowing us to have a few family nights at home together.
{Last museum post, I promise.} The whole reason we visited (besides the free entrance) was to see the Heroes and Villains exhibit. Comic book drawings from India were on display. The museum gave all kids the opportunity to create their own superheroes with super powers. The kids could not wait to get their hands on those drawing boards (especially Davin).
one more forced family photo... i am a sucker for documentation.
