my monkey is 11.

With the start of school this week, we celebrated Davin's birthday a little early.  There' nothing he loves more, than to CLIMB so... an afternoon at the indoor rock gym with his closest friends was his request this year.  For 2 hours, they all climbed to their heart's content.  After it was back to the house for pizza and Yoda cake pops (thanks Ammie!).  It was a very fun last hoorah before summer ended.

Happiest Birthday Davin!

when my baby smiles at me I go to RIO

Avery's first gymnastics show with a Rio theme.  Tutus, feathers, and masks were just a few of the props that spiced up the event.  We are proud of our Level 3 gymnast and all she has accomplished so far.  With the most patient and structured coaches around, I foresee many more of these showcases in her future.

What would the first day of school be without the traditional front doorstep picture before making the mad dash in 3 different directions?

Hunter age 12 (7th grade), Davin age 11 (5th grade), Avery age 8 (3rd grade), and my first day of my 13th year as a 6th grade teacher.

We are blessed with the BEST teachers at the BEST schools once again.  Bring on the routines, homework, and crazy sports schedules!  We got this!

blue socks.

They are my tracking device.  Dead or alive?  Moving not moving?  Last year it was the bright green cleats that kept me informed.  The socks aren't as bold, but they'll do.  Another year of Pop Warner tackle football has begun.  New challenges.  New commitments.  New teammates.  And hopefully new memories.

And meanwhile over on the playground...

Monday - Friday evenings.  This is where you'll find us.

her happy place

Another glorious week in Paradise for Avery.  She's working with Maverik, a 27 year old horse, but determined to get on the younger more savvy Dakota by the end of the week.  Something tells me she's going to meet her goal just fine!  A very special thank you to Miss Krisha who provides this summer highlight every year.
