an hour of electronics

BUT the way I see it is:

  • they are quiet
  • they are happy
  • they are engaged
  • they are relaxed
  • they are cozy
  • they are sharing 1 piece of furniture
  • they are not fighting
  • and they are TOGETHER.
no complaints from this momma.

multi tasker

Meet "Liz Biz".  Up until now I was hesitant to post pictures.  Didn't want to jinx a good thing.  This is Davin's newest addition... bearded dragon number 2.
Like any good pet owner, Davin wanted to expose Liz Biz to some culture:  they spent the better part of Sunday evening enjoying Hunger Games on the laptop.

Meanwhile in other areas of the farm, Avery was teaching Charlie a thing or two about staying under the radar.  Something she's very good at.

she's flippin out

A typical afternoon off from the real gym for Avery often involves daddy and a mat in the backyard.

Pressure's on when the panel of judges are looking...

Don't let this tired face fool ya, he's her number one fan.

shine bright like a diamond.

An 80 + degree weekend?  Baseball tryouts and a mini vacay at a hotel 20 minutes away were on the itinerary. That warm Vitamin D never felt so good...

you know the flu has hit when...

Your laundry becomes the uninvited guest at the dinner table, and...
WAY overstays its welcome!
...your day is broken down into 4 hour increments indicating its okay to take your next dixie cup-sized serving of relief.
... you find that everyone in the house has been drinking from the same medicine serving cup and that you are all just most likely reinfecting each other.

Happy to say, we are on the mend for the most part and hopeful to enjoy the 81 degree sunshine that is scheduled for today.

Hey, maybe I'll even fold some laundry or two.

Happy 3 day weekend to you.

up and back.

This weekend I had to make an un expected 24 trip to Sacramento to attend the funeral of my Uncle Steve (my dad's brother).  In reflection, there were some positives to this sad occasion.  I got to see family from far and wide, some of which I had never met before.   My uncle was blind and had made a big impact on other blind members of his community.  The way the speakers at the ceremony shared their experiences and memories of my uncle made me so proud to be his niece.  I will never hear the song "Amazing Grace" again without thinking of my Uncle Steve.

I once was blind, but now I see...

While in Sacramento, my dad and I spent the day leading up to the ceremony, running errands, site seeing (within the allowance of 15 minute parking), and most of all reminiscing.  I will treasure that day forever.

The capitol building was truly a sight to behold...

I returned on Saturday to the following beautiful messes:  A switch in bedrooms (Avery to the office and the office to Avery's room)

And the creating of a pinewood derby car:
And sadly the mysterious passing of Davin's new bearded dragon Steve...  yes, we just got him a week ago.  No, we aren't sure what went wrong.  Yes, he's already been replaced, although I'm slightly gun-shy to post pictures of the new guy who is still remaining nameless.  He'll make his debut eventually.
Once the dust settled Sunday night, and Avery was tucked into her new digs, I found someone else who was willing to share her new space.  Melted my heart just a tad.
 Big brothers are cool.
"After" pics are on their way.  Just putting on the finishing touches. Redecorating just never gets old to me.  Not ever.

animal instincts

Sometimes people get costumes for Christmas.  And sometimes... they are peer-pressured into an immediate fashion show.  On Christmas.

We love you Cousin Adam and Gina.  Thanks for entertaining us all.
