We are boarding the Amtrak and heading to the Mission in San Juan Capistrano today. Part of 4th grade Social Studies is studying the California missions. I think it is important that Hunter experiences a mission ahead of time so he knows what the heck his teacher is talking about (I know, I know, poor teacher's kid).
Dusan is lacking enthusiasm. To quote him, "We are taking the train to look at an old white building with lots of birds? Can the kids even go in there?"
My response, "No I thought we'd disguise the kids in monk robes and sneak them in with us!"
Should make for an interesting day. I'll be back Tuesday with documentation of course.

ha ha - you are funny - making him go on a pre field trip...I was never one for the missions - I think building one is cool...but not walking around and looking at it...you better stop for ice cream on the way home!!!
Can't wait to read the details.
That makes me really miss teaching! Tell Hunter 4th grade is THE BEST EVER! (I also get nostalgic smelling pencils this time of year) Plus I REALLY miss shopping for new school clothes!
