What better way to ring in Avery's birthday, than a day of playing hookie! The 5 of us were off to the happiest place on earth! Everything was magical, as it should be...the weather was gorgeous, the lines were short to nothin', and everyone was in good spirits. Here's a picture summary of our day:
Of course we had to pose for the traditional family pic in front of the castle, and of course some dumb tourist had to have his back in the background. Typical, right?
First stop...Thunder Mountain! What were we thinking? We figured it would be best to take Avery on the fastest ride right away before she caught on and started asking questions... it worked out well but for this ride only. She's one smart cookie. For the next 22 rides she became very inquisitive...wanting to know every detail before buckling that seatbelt. She actually walked off Pirates of the Carribbean. Luckily Dusan caught up to her. I'm not sure where she thought she was going but, she definitely knew she was not going to have anything to do with that ride!
One of Avery's favorite rides of the day. She loved being in charge of that wheel.
And as you might have guessed, we were on a hot and heavy pursuit for Alice in Wonderland
It sure was! We found her! At last! Avery finally got the moment she had been waiting for. I am not sure who was happier...her or me? The Mad Hatter and Alice sang their own rendition of "Happy Birthday to you" and eventually sat all the way on the ground to pose...
...for the PERFECT picture! This was the highlight of the day for sure. I even caught the boys smiling seeing Avery so happy.
I snapped this picture as we were making our exit (10 hours and 23 rides later...yep, that's right...Dusan carried an index card in his back pocket and wrote down every single ride we went on for a memory and to keep track)...
"Magical" is the best word to describe the day for all of us. And of you got this far in the post... thank you for looking at all these pictures. It was tough to narrow down to just these few after taking 135, but who is counting anyway?
Happiest birthday to the happiest girl we know.
