100th day of school

Almost as big as a national holiday around here.  The kindergartners had to bring in a collection of 100 things.  All sorts of items were brought in for sharing in increments of 100: pennies, stickers, Legos, race cars, feathers.

and ponytails...

Avery counted out 10 rows of 10 clear rubberbands.  Layed them out nice and neat.  Then the fun began.  We (mostly me) began separating her Barbie head's overly washed, ratted, and processed hair into 100 sections.

Here are the results...

I love this. Eli & I just counted out 100 buttons and glued them down over the letters of his name on poster paper. Can you believe thay can count to 100? They've learned so much this year!

See? THIS is why I love your blog SO MUCH. When I taught school, none of the children ever came up with an idea this fantastic. This is truly original!
