daisy chain.

When I found out I was pregnant for the 3rd time (5 years ago), I just assumed I was having a boyI was made for boys.  Originally I was hoping to have 5 of them (all boys that is).  I didn't even consider girls' names.

I couldn't picture my life with a girl.

A week before my ultrasound, I had a middle-of-the-night panic attack.  It occurred to me that I might never have a Girl Scout.

As a child, I was a Girl Scout for 7 years.  I held my troop leaders with the highest of regards.  Some of my fondest childhood memories were made during Girl Scouts.  Last week my mom found my windbreaker with all of the patches I had worked so hard to earn.  I had so many incredible experiences with that group of girls...

During that ultrasound, I recognized the notorious "3 white lines" before the technician and you better believe I sat straight up and shouted "I'm having a Girl Scout!"...

Today was Avery's first Daisy Scout meeting.  I am a co-leader.  I have been looking forward to this day and the start of this journey for a long time.

Awwww... I want a girl! Too late, I am a boy mommy. So funny, my mom was a girl scout leader when I was in girl scouts. I still have my sash, which is covered in patches. I'm telling ya, we were separated at birth! Who am I going to give it to now that I have all boys!??!?! Ha Ha! I bet you're having a great time!

Opposite story: I could never imagine my life with boys, so when I got pregnant with Ian it was a strange feeling. (But, wonderful, of course, since he is so dear!)

But when I went to my ultrasound for my second pregnancy, and the tech said, "It's a girl," I kept saying, "Are you sure?" "Are you SURE?" over and over again, and then I couldn't stop the overjoyed tears . . .

Have fun Daisy scouting!
